Safety


Each participant and each team is responsible for his/her own safety. Below are some safety precautions as notes to the contest rules.

The captain meeting is the arbiter according to the latest weather forecasts announce which measures will be in force. The stewards at all times reserves the right to all participating teams to cancel the trip, or to shift the route.

Safety Precautions

Life jackets: Wearing life jackets is compulsory on the route Woudsend – Beam and Old Karre – Stavoren. For exact interpretation of the range in which life jackets must be worn is made to the regulations.

Additional buoyancy required: Boats with air cabinets meet the FISA standard A.I. buoyancy (ca. 120 liters). Additionally, additional 30 liters of buoyancy required. Boats without buoyancy are required to place 150 liters of buoyancy (by air cushions of 30 liters). Additional buoyancy to be attached such that it in the boat can not drift away! This will be monitored during the test.

Flooding: If the boat is filling always stay with the boat!

Supervision: A hired by the organization department oversees one or several boats on the Slotermeer. They are knowledgeable and familiar with the local conditions on the lake. Boat / Boats are located approximately in the middle of the Slotermeer the itinerary Woudsend – Locks. There are so necessary white light signals emitted where rowboats on down to rates so as to stabbing the Slotermeer to Sloten.
