ERM 2012 on the 18^th and 19^th of Mai

Every year, on the Friday night and Saturday after the Christian holiday
Ascension Day, the renowned Eleven Cities Rowing Marathon is held.
This year it will be on 18 and 19 Mai. It is expected that, just like in
previous years, close to 100 local and foreign relay teams will be racing
the 210 kilometers. In 2010 the route was extended with and extra leg
via Berlikum. After many positive responses this has been permanently
added to the course.




The start will be at the Prinsentuin in Leeuwarden on Friday evening
at 20.00 hours. In turn the competitive, masters, mixed and women
teams will start. The last teams to start will be the Outsiders and the
Tour category. The winning team will cross the finish line at
Wetterwille Rowing Club Leeuwarden on Saturday around 13.15
hours.

Teams can enter by registering thru this website. The crews have
a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 participants including coxwains.
They will row the course in relay in a C2X+.

Spectators and followers can cheer the rowers on, on Friday evening in
Leeuwarden, Bartlehiem and Dokkum. Around sunrise the fastest C2s
will pass by Sloten. Subsequently the will pass Balk, Stavoren, Hinde-
loopen, Workum, Bolsward, Harlingen, Franeker and Berlikum to finish
back in Leeuwarden. Check the schedule for expected passing times
per city. Since a couple of years the competitive teams can be followed
online via tracking and tracing.
